Without further commentary, some annotated charts of the UK Home Office Q1 immigration data. Where we learn that every single metric is very much down down and add a little context to the headlines.

In 2019, the UK received one asylum application for every 1,449 resident, less than half the EU27 average of one for 640. (Eurostat)
Immigration detention is undetermined in length. While it ends up being usually less than a year, four people had been there between 2 and 3 years and one betwen 3 and 4 years, as of the end of March.
Enforced returns are what we colloquially would call deportations. Voluntary returns are encouraged and taken on one's own, though not always wanted.
5.6 million applications to the EU Settlement Scheme had been received by the end of May. The deadline is 30 June.
